iPhone (Safari): tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
Android (Chrome): tap the three-dot menu, then Install app.

A good log
What each trip needs
- The date, the miles, and the business purpose.
- Where you went (from and to). Recommended.
- Total miles you drove the vehicle this year: add your Jan 1 and Dec 31 odometer readings in Vehicles.
- Write it down at or near the time. A weekly log counts. Catching up later is allowed, and the PDF marks those trips "(entered later)".
- A delivery or rideshare shift with no break can be one record: name the platform in the purpose.
Commuting vs business
- Home to your regular workplace and back is commuting. It is never business, however far.
- Trips between work locations, and to a temporary work site, are generally business.
- No regular office? Home to your first stop and your last stop to home can be commuting, unless your home is your principal place of business (IRS Pub. 463, chapter 4, Figure B).
- Many gig drivers count every "online" mile. How the rules apply to app-based driving depends on the facts. This app does not decide it for you: pick Business or Commute, and ask a tax professional if you're unsure.
Using the standard rate
- Choose the standard mileage rate in the first year the car is used for business. For a leased car, use it for the whole lease.
- You can't use it for 5 or more cars used at the same time, or after claiming MACRS, section 179 or bonus depreciation on that car.
- The rate is for a car, van, pickup or panel truck. Motorcycles and bikes: log the miles; no value is shown.
Parking and tolls
Business parking fees and tolls are counted on top of the mileage rate, so the app keeps them separate. Parking at your regular workplace is a commuting cost.
W-2 employees
Since 2018, W-2 employees generally can't claim unreimbursed work mileage on a federal return (exceptions include Armed Forces reservists, fee-basis state or local officials and qualified performing artists; the 2025 tax law made this permanent). Many employers reimburse at the IRS rate: this log works for that.
